RECHARGE is the industry association for advanced rechargeable and lithium batteries and battery-powered applications in Europe.

The leading voice for advanced rechargeable battery power in Europe

RECHARGE is a non-profit association representing the multifold interests of the advanced rechargeable and lithium battery industry in Europe. Founded in 1998, our unique membership covers all aspects of the advanced rechargeable batteries value chain:

  • Suppliers of primary and secondary raw materials to the battery industry
  • Rechargeable battery manufactures
  • Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Logistic partners
  • Battery recyclers
  • Other related organizations

 

An expert partner for all technical and legislative topics pertaining to advanced rechargeable and lithium batteries, RECHARGE works closely with other battery associations as well as related laboratories and institutes in Europe, and at international level, too.

Mission

To act on our mission of promoting advanced rechargeable batteries as a core technology that will contribute to the industrial and social revolution towards a more empowered, sustainable and circular Europe, we put all our efforts in improving battery acceptance while ensuring an international level playing field that provides continued market access for new and existing products. RECHARGE and our members stand for:

  • Environmental-friendly design, manufacturing and end-of-life management of batteries
  • Sustainable involvement of the European battery industry in waste management, recycling and best practices
  • Safe manufacturing, usage, storage and transport of batteries

Our People

RECHARGE is governed by a Board of Directors that consists of elected representatives of our members. A small team of experts manages the daily operations of RECHARGE. Our way of working as well as our members-focused structure, ensure that member companies have a real say in the strategic direction of the Association.
